What would YOU name our baby??
Ok remember how I said we thought it was a girl and then I said that it's actually a boy?? Well we had a list of girl names that I really liked but now we are sort of starting over. I feel so stuck. Boy names seem so much harder then girls! What is up with that?? Don and I have discussed whether or not we will put a poll on my blog with our name list towards the end of pregnancy. It just depends I guess on how we are feeling. We have had some fairly rude responses when we have shared our names like "it's stupid", "I hate it", "who would name their kid that", some people insisting that they would NOT use the name and call them something else... and the list goes on. So at this point we are proceeding with caution. However, I would love to hear your ideas for names!! Don and I are untraditional with a flair of traditional. Hehehe.. I like names that aren't really common but don't sound made up. As for boy names I personally don't really want a name that is unisex, I want a masculine name for my son. The best example is Broderic. (In my opinion) It's a great name with a cute nickname and it will grow with him into manhood. When we named Brody I had rarely heard of the name and I hear it much more now. Oh well. I just want to come up with something that is just as good. :) Soo0ooo what do you think? What are boy names that you would suggest???
The bubble maker...
I am so bad at uploading pictures. I never get them in the order that I want. Anyway, Brody got a bubble mower for his birthday and he LOVES it!! Seriously, I had to post some of the pictures of him and DON playing with it. However, I thought I would add some misc. pics in as well. I wanted to share some pics of our Sophie dog but I never talk about her. She's a great dog, her and Brodes are BFF! ;) Hehe...

Just for fun I thought I would throw in a picture of Don and I! :)
This picture was meant to be posted at the end. This was after Brody was chasing Don around to play with his
new mower. I think he gave up and decided to play with the dandelions. :)
I think Don is teasing Brody here, "Come and get it... " Poor kid.
Just curious if any other two year olds have to chase their dads to get their toys!! Hmmmm??

I LOVE his smile, do you think he likes his new toy!! How fun. Thank you so much

Just us at the zoo!
My niece, Little Miss A. :0
Auntie Jen and Brodes, admiring the fish
This is what happens to you after a whole day at the zoo with your family. :)
Grandma :)
Soooooo BIG!! Isn't she the cutest. :)
Uncle Lorry and Brodes playing.
I think this picture is funny. :)
Just had to share a picture of the prairie dog.
I think this was a strategic move on Brody's part. He is really not liking me taking his picture lately. :)
Brody and RaRa watching the dolphins. :)What a day! Last Sunday we went to the MN Zoo with my family. It was a fun, crazy, chaotic and busy day. There were 13 people and it is a lot of work to keep track of everyone. We don't often do things like this as a family and it was fun to take the time to all go to the zoo together. It was a little extension of Brody's birthday. I really wanted to take him to the zoo. He seemed to be more interested in the water around the zoo then the animals and not to mention getting away from me. He loved having any kind of freedom of running around. It was hard to take pictures so I didn't take a lot but I hope you enjoy what I got. :)
Birthday
I tried to get the pictures in order but I gave up. So they are all in order except the first one which I wanted to be last. I thought I would share some birthday pictures. However, I didn't take much. :) So what you see is what you get. I love this first one and it really needs so explanation. He takes after his momma. loves the frosting and leaves the cake behind. :)
My mom lives out in Idaho but she got to join us thanks to mac computer and high speed internet. :) It was really fun. Please note Brody's big OL smile in the second picture. I think he was happy to see her.

I was so excited that he blew out one of his candles!! :) Yeah Brody!
He was trying to blow out the second one.....
but he gave up and got hungry!! Hahaha...

It was a small little party but we had fun.

Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl....
Hmmmm.... where do I begin. Remember the inkling... the doctor told us a few weeks ago that she did NOT see boy parts. I never shared that with you all. I probably have also never shared that for as long as I can remember I have always wanted a little girl. The doctor who did the US a few weeks ago said there was a 70% chance it could be a girl. We did tell close family and friends. This created excitement. Biologically no one in mine our my husband's families have had girls. Many people were rooting for a girl, including myself. I started refering to the baby as a girl, I bought a few girl things ( hangs head, but only at garage sales.) and we had a pretty solid name list for a girl.
Yesterday the techinician said she saw boy parts. Totally expecting to hear we were having a girl I was shocked, Don was shocked, and my sister shocked! I have to admit I cried. I know that there are women who can't have babies, I know that there are circumstances completely tragic and I don't feel that I have the right to feel anything but joy. So please be gentle with my heart. I feel ugly even sharing that I wasn't completely filled with joy in finding out the sex of my baby. However, I am glad that we found out. I like knowing now. I will tell you too that my husband is not convinced that it's a boy. He thinks that the US tech wasn't certain. My sister and I didn't get the same impression. However, she didn't spend much time looking for the sex, or take any pictures. It seems that they usually do that I wish we would have gotten that. :) It's kind of fun to use those to tell people what you are having. Oh well. Yesterday my sister came to the cities with her boys. Last night I was watching these crazy boys, whom I love so so so much, wrestle around and make faces at me through the window. It totally filled my heart. I am so excited that Brody is going to have a brother. I believe that brother's and sister's can have a strong bond but I believe that siblings of the same sex can have a bond that is even stronger. My sister's are irreplaceable. I know that life is going to be so fun with boys. I hope that they will be best buds. I imagine them going fishing together, playing sports together, watching FOOOOTBALL together, and according to Don Brody needs someone to help take him down because he can't do it alone. ;) I guess we will see in about 20 years if that is true or not.
We love you darling baby boy! I can't wait to figure out your name, meet you and get to know you.

21 weeks
It's been a busy busy week. We have celebrated two important birthdays, photographed a wedding, two families, edited and posted pictures on my blog, and the list goes on. I took this picture on Monday but wanted to wait to post it till after Brody's birthday. So here is the belly. This baby moves all the time. I love it. Friday is the big day for the US and I hope I sleep Thursday night. I am soooo stinking excited I can't stand it. I will probably not post over the weekend though. Maybe Sunday. We will see.

Happy Birthday Monkey!

2 years ago I gave birth to the hairiest little boy. :) Hehehe.. He had hair on his ears, back, arms, legs... so Don and I nicknamed him monkey boy. :) Not to mention he had a way of pursing his lips that added to the name. We couldn't help ourselves. He was from that point on our little monkey and today still is, just in different ways. I can't believe it's been two years since I went through 35 hours of labor, 16 hours of throwing up, 3 1/2 hours of pushing, pitocin, an epi, and some other drug for the nausea. Lovely. BUT boy oh boy is he worth it. Last week Don turned 35 and I couldn't help but imagine what his mom must feel like knowing her baby is 35, mine is only two and I wish I could rewind and go back through it in slow motion. So that I could document everything, remember everything, kiss him more, cuddle him more, play more, love more. I hope that each day, even when it's not always easy that I will just enjoy him to the fullest.
There are so many things that you do right now. That I love. You make me laugh everyday. I love to watch you learn, listen to you talk, try to count, discover new and unusual things.
Right now you like to count but only to two. You can't say one, you say WHY! :) Why, two. You light up when you do it, you are very proud of yourself.
You love to say good job, when you feel that you did or/are doing a good job at something.
You have many favorite words; boat, car, church, NO, eat, outside, hi, bye
You love your stroller because it means that you get to go outside. You refer to your stroller as a car. Being outside is the greatest thing to you ever. Even when you were a newborn if we walked you outside when you were upset it always calmed you down. You beg me to go outside everyday, all day long.
You said your first sentence a few weeks ago. It was "Have a good day." I love to hear you say it and you say it with all the excitement you can muster. You are starting to say it to people who are checking us out at the stores. Target, grocery store. Too cute.
You are a very happy boy. You love people. You love to talk. You say hi and bye to anyone and everyone in the store. If they don't respond you just say it louder until they do. You don't give anyone the option of ignoring you.
You love to eat and are always asking to eat. You love cheese, which you refer to as chee. Most fruit is good by you. Especially, strawberries, blueberries, and oranges. Other favorite foods are hotdogs, french fries, tomatoes, chips, dip (gaucamole and hummus), peas. If you are really enjoying your food you let us know by making mmm mmm noises and smiling. You like chips but if we dip them in hummus or gaucamole you will suck off the dip and not eat the chip. You love dip.
When you want something to drink you ask for milk or water but it doesn't mean that you actually want water if you really want milk. You get them mixed up.
You also can get mommy and daddy mixed up. You sometimes call daddy mommy but you almost always refer to me as mommy. You adore your dad. If he is home you want to be by him, you want him to hold you, play with you. You want to be where he is doing whatever he is doing.
You love books. You have a favorite book that Grandma and Grandpa Boyd have upstairs. It's a big thick heavy book with a lot of pictures. There is a picture for each day of the year. The pictures are creative and different. They represent places all over the world and whenever we go up there you always have to look it. You talk to us and tell us about each of the pictures.
You have two favorite stuffed animals, your elephant snuggles and your moose which is called moo.
You sleep in a toddler bed, which you have been doing for about a month.
You love music, you enjoy dancing.
You love to help. If mommy is cleaning the kitchen you like to try and sweep the floor or wipe down the stove with a towel. YOu like to help load the washing machine, or put clothes away after they are folded. You help mommy and daddy pick up your toys and put them in your bucket. You also enjoy helping put your books away.
You love bath time. You are folding your hands when we pray and you say amen when we are done.
You are a blessing to us. We love you dearly. Happy Birthday darling boy.
Shhhhh.....
Please be quiet... I can't take the chance of you waking him up. WOW, what a day. Today should be smiles, laughter, food, & fun. Today should be presents, cake, sunshine and rainbows. In stead it's been filled with WHINING, tantrums, crying, time outs, breakfast on the floor, lunch refused... this poor kid has maybe had a handful of cheerios today because he keeps getting his food taken away. Like I said breakfast was thrown on the floor, lunch wasn't good enough so I figured he wasn't hungry enough. To bed this crabby boy went and I pray he wakes up rejuvenated and ready to celebrate this very special day. Wheewww.... Just an update on our day. I will post more later. :)

We have a model in the family!
This picture totally cracks me up. I rarely have Brody running around in just his diaper. Our house is always a little cool. So anyway he was running around the other day and I just love love those chubby little toddler legs. So I told Brody to show me his legs and he totally posed! hahahaha..... I love that boy.
