2 weeks

WOW! I can't believe two weeks has already gone by. Time is flying. We are doing good. We have had some excitement. First we were having a problem with Weston not gaining much weight. So I went and saw a lactation consultant. They wanted me to do a weight check on him last Friday to make sure he was gaining weight. So I have been nursing and pumping like crazy to make sure that my milk supply is up. Thursday the day before I had to bring him in for the weight check he decided that he would become very lethargic on me. For 8 hours that day he slept really hard, it took A LOT to rouse him to nurse and he would only nurse for a few minutes and then back to sleep. He also had a bit of a stuffy nose. That night he started to wake a bit more and then he nursed well through the night and in the morning. Still not as well as he had been but better. So when we went in for the weight check I wanted them to listen to his congestion and make sure there wasn't anything else going on. I mentioned he had been very lethargic the day before but it was better. The nurse practitioner was pretty concerned about how lethargic he had been. That morning while I was there he was also sleeping really hard, he goes limp and hardly responds to you. So they decided to keep us at the clinic for 5 hours that day. They did a chest x-ray, blood tests, tested all of his vitals. They were trying to decide whether or not to send us to the hospital just to monitor him to make sure that there wasn't anything they were missing. However during the 5 hours at the clinic he had great alert time, he nursed well and all the tests were coming back normal. So I pointed that out to the Dr. and asked if I could take him home to monitor him. They agreed and he has been fine. So I guess he just had a very sleepy day. :) We are still up frequently during the night but it's a little better then in the beginning. It's more exhausting to deal with Brody who for some reason has been waking up much earlier then usual. It seems to work out that Weston wakes up to nurse around 4pm and then Brody will wake up around 5:30am and want to stay up for the day. :) However this morning he slept until 6:50. We were pretty excited. Don is back to school and work. My mom left today , which means that this is my first week on my own with the boys. I am a little nervous and a little excited. I would greatly appreciate your prayers this week as we adjust to it just being us. My sister is coming at the end of this week for a long weekend. She is flying up from Florida, so we have something exciting to look forward to. I can't wait to see her. :)
