It's 9pm and I just need to go to bed to be done with this day. I have a slight blood disorder. Not a big deal but they keep an eye on my hemoglobin while I am pregnant because it gets low. Today at my appt. I had to get my blood drawn because last time I talked her out of skipping it. I hate getting my blood drawn. Anyway, I am going to pay for it. My hemoglobin dropped over a point. I am sure I am going to get a lecture. I know that I need to be eating iron rich foods. So I decided to google and this is what came up on the list.....

I'm just taking iron supplements and eating lots of red meat to keep my iron up. You can also get iron fortified cereal and don't forget eggs have iron too. Not all iron rich foods are nasty. That list is just scary.
Um... NO. I don't think most humans would eat that stuff. Well, not any that I personally know. I doubt that anything from that list would stay down long enough to get iron into your system! Eeww...
I say try a nice steak! :) Hopefully that and your prenatal vitamins will help!
Goose, venison, and pheasant are both good. We used to eat liver when I was a kid but I never liked it.
EWWW!! That is yuck! I am so sorry about Brody too!! Hope that gets better!!
Jen, do you like Broccoli, Lentil Beans, or Raisin Bran? :) Red meat is the best source of iron. But you can get iron from other sources such as cereals, seeds and nuts, dried beans, dried fruit and dark green leafy vegetables. Vitamin C can enhance iron absorption, so a glass of orange juice with your morning cereal is a good combination. Calcium supplements for some reason can inhibit iron absorption, so don't take your prenatal vitamin with a high iron meal.
Hope this is Double YUM for you! :)
Total cereal too, I could not eat liver, it makes me sick literally. I think it has to much iron in it for the blood disorder.
