Life at home

Are weekend was full of running around. Friday night Don's cousin had her graduation ceremony from college. It was fun to go and celebrate with her and the rest of the family. I got to meet his uncle Danny whom I had never met before. We are quickly becoming a part of this family that Don has longed for a long time. It's interesting because it gives me a small glimpse into who his dad was. I am thankful that Don has reconnected with them.

Saturday we got to meet up with my sister Tami. It was brief but well worth it, even if we only got an hour. We met at IKEA and walked around a bit. She had never been there before. Then Don and I decided to go to MOA afterwards. We grabbed some food and then shopped around a bit for some very needed stuff. Brodes has need a spring/fall coat. We are gearing up to do some camping this summer and he really didn't have  a coat. So now he does. This is pretty exciting stuff isn't it. Well Sunday was the same way we ran to Dick's Sporting Goods store to get a few more things for camping. We are planning on camping this coming weekend for Father's Day. I am excited and a little nervous. I am not certain how well Brodes is going to sleep camping but we will see. It's been awhile since I have had a chance to get outdoors and take some scenery pictures so I am going to try and see if I can produce something good.

I am still faithfully going to the Y regularly and so far I have lost a wopping 1 1/2 lbs!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Oh well. I am trying to remind myself it's a lifestyle change and it's not about losing weight. I am trying to be health concious. I am excited because tonight I am making my version of Chipotle's burrito bowl. Grilled chicken, white rice (light on the rice), black beans, salsa, and home made gaucamole... YUM!! No sour cream and no cheese. It still sounds yummy though. Anyway, I am starting to ramble so that's all I have on the home front for now. Enjoy your week.

Knock Knock...

Who's there?
BRODY!! Brody has picked up how to knock on doors. So he walks around now to the doors and just knocks on them. :)

Frugal Fridays

I am sorry I said I would do this every Friday and have not followed through. I am planning to continue FF but I have decided not to do it every week. It sneaks up on me and then I forget that it's Friday. I know you probably think I am making up excuses but it really is amazing how often I forget things that are ridiculous. So you will just have to keep reading because who knows when I will share with you a fun frugal tip. Thanks for reading and stay posted. ;)

On the move...

Making Faces

Today might be the day...

that just does me in. :( Ok.. I am being a bit dramatic. Why do you ask? The most likely culprit is the horrible night sleep that I had. I woke up in the middle of the night from dreaming about wedding pictures. So then I started thinking about posing, and everything else. UGGHHH!! I was laying in bed around 3 wide awake. So then Don wakes up bc he says that he thought he heard the baby. Well I had been laying there wide awake and I hadn't heard him. He wanted me to bring the baby in to sleep with us so that my sister ( she spent the night) could move into the baby's bedroom and sleep on the bed. She didn't want to sleep with him for fear he would wake her up. So I go get the baby. Everything in me was yelling this isn't a good idea. I did it anyway. Roxy moves to the bed. I suggest to my hubby that we set up the playpen because Brodes doesn't sleep well with others. He usually needs his own space. My darling husband thought that moving the playpen from the LR to our BR would be too much work. So once again I didn't follow my instinct. Brody cried, screamed, kicked, manuevered and everything else you could think of all night long. I haven't slept since. :( Why am I not sleeping now you ask, since HE is sleeping. That is a good question? Because my ridiculous brain won't let me. BLAHHHHH... I am going to go shower before my baby wakes up. Later.

Where have I been??

I feel like I don't even really know! Hahahaha...
The reality is that Brodes and I have just been busy living life. He is getting 4 new teeth. It's so cute to see all these little teefers in his smile now. :) He is also saying thank you now. It's really cute. Mostly when I kiss him. :) AND he says owwww when he falls whether or not it hurt, you can just tell. He looks at me and smiles with amusement when he does it. I will tell you that I am  not very convinced that he is hurt. :) Probably the most fun has been watching him develop his walking skills. He is starting to walk as much as crawl but crawling still gets him around faster. He took his first steps at 11 months but I wouldn't have considered him officially walking until about now. I think in a week or two he will be completely walking. It's amazing because he first stood up at 9 months. I thought it would take a little time but I figured he would walk in about 2 months. It's taken over 3 months and he still isn't walking all the time. It's amazing how long it can take but I bet it takes awhile to build up the strength in those little legs. Well I will be posting some walking pictures here in the next day or so. Very fun.

Anyway, our biggest time consumer at this point is that we are going to Y almost daily. I love it. It's not easy for me to always get together with other moms or my girlfriends. Some of my friends that are moms live a distance away, and a lot of women I know work during the day. So the Y has been a great outlet for me, and maybe I will meet some more moms there. I am soooo excited to report that Brody and I will be starting swimming lessons in 2 weeks!!! YEAH! I LOVE swimming and have always wanted to teach my kids swimming at a young age. We took Brody swimming last week for the second time. The first time we ever took him it was horrible, he screamed the whole time. The water was cold and he was still kind of young. For over a week after that experience he would scream every time we gave him a bath. Luckily this experience was 100x better. He LOVED it, he was squealing and smiling. We even dunked him a couple of times. I will say that he is still getting used to that but he handled it great!

So what else have we been up to. Well I mentioned that Brody is getting 4 teeth but did I mention that we are back to sleepless nights. Poor guy. Two nights in a row he was up 3-4 hours in the middle of the night. Which is another reason why I have been quiet during the day. So that is us. There are a bunch of new pictures and I can't wait to share them. They are more humorous then anything. So stay posted and thanks for not giving up on me. I am still here! :)
