Just call me Gladys

The last few weeks I have been taking a water aerobics class a couple of times a week. My friend Anne invited me and it has been making a difference in how sore my body has been. I was have a lot of discomfort from walking and so decided to switch up my exercise. I think I am going to try to do both and we will see how it goes. I go to a level 2 class and just work at my own pace. They announced in the class that there is a level 1 class that meets on another day. I was curious and wanted to try the lower class because the teacher made the comment that you would learn proper form. I just thought it would be good to make sure I am doing everything correctly. So yesterday morning I headed to the Y for the 9am level 1. I get out to the pool and this sweet older lady greets me, welcomes me to the class and asks me about my pregnancy. Other people start coming in and we all get into the pool. I look around and everyone in the class is probably 30-40 years older then me. :) Oh well. The teacher introduces me to the class and most everyone is smiling but I got a couple of interesting looks. A few of the ladies were interested in my pregnancy and were really sweet. Something however felt weird and I couldn't put my finger on it. Finally it dawned on me and I went to ask Caroline a question. I smiled at her and asked "Is this an AOA class." She got a big grin on her face and said you mean a class for "Active Older Adults, yes it is but don't you worry about it, anyone can come." I wanted to sink to the bottom of the pool. So now I am hanging out with the active older adults. ;)
