Let the GAMES begin!!

Remember how I said I was PROUD of my naughty little boy! Did I say naughty... ok how about stinkery little boy. Well it has begun. I figured it would but I was hoping that it would take a little while longer. Brody has figured out that he doesn't have to stay in his bed. He can crawl in and out. He thinks it's very funny. He loves to crawl out of bed and come and knock on the door. Our approach so far is to patiently keep taking him back to bed. Then we give him a warning after a few times of putting him back down. The warning is that if he doesn't sleep in his bed he will have to sleep in the playpen. Well he has been sleeping in the playpen for about two days for naps and bedtime. Not sure how to deal with this, I would like to strap him down but I think that might be the wrong approach.

Oh boy! This is just a suggestion, so please take it as such :) I've been reading up on proactive parenting and one of the suggestions I've read is the "one time" rule. It can be applied to anything really. If the sippy cup goes over the highchair's edge, you pick it up one time. If it goes over again, it's yours. If Brody gets out of bed, you return him one time. If he gets out again....he's in the playpen. Etc, etc. Kiddos are REALLY smart and will learn quickly how many times they can push our buttons and our sanity is precious :)
I hope this is helpful!

lol I'm guessing you're right :)

does he like sleeping in the playpen? or does he view it as punishment?
